Purpose of the Position:

Within the area of learning services, the postholder will contribute to enhance the offer of eLearning Content development to better respond to the clients’ requirements, by creating and editing eLearning modules, and multimedia elements.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Training Officer – Head of Learning Services Group, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:

  • Participate in the identification of target audience’s learning needs in collaboration with internal team members and subject matter experts
  • Determine the best mode to translate story-boards into attractive eLearning content based on identified needs and adult learning theory
  • Create engaging microlearning materials/media, including audio, video, interactive eLearning modules, simulations, role plays, games, printable job aids, etc.
  • Under guidance, draft devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness and impact of the learning in collaboration with instructional designers and subject matter experts
  • Continuously evaluate and reshape existing content for changing needs
  • Collaborate with LMS administrator to configure learning products on the organization’s LMS
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of LMS and/or other training delivery and tracking systems in collaboration with internal and/or external team members
  • Based on inputs from internal and external team members, draft and consolidate, format learning material other than eLearning, such as learning catalogues, presentations, flyer, etc.
  • Assist with management of learning projects including scoping the required resources and timeline to meet project timelines with quality results
  • Stay abreast of new design trends and deliver creative and innovative ideas for layout and design of elearning and information materials
  • Produce periodic or ad-hoc reports
  • Perform other related duties as required or instructed, including providing support to other areas of work, as assigned
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management.

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional working experience within the fields of graphic design, multimedia, or visual arts
  • Experience in creating and editing eLearning content through the use of digital software such as Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360
  • Experience in using/administrating eLearning platforms such as Moodle
  • Excellent knowledge of design approaches, tools, and methodologies essential to develop creative designs and produce high-quality graphic material for print and digital media projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and deliver quality results in a time-sensitive environment
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility and capability of working under pressure

Desirable:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong networking skills, ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups
  • Experience within the UN system
  • Experience in project management

Education: 

Essential:

Completion of secondary education or its equivalent

Languages:

  • Excellent knowledge of English

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate): EUR 43,281.
