Position Description

Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of this role is to provide IT security support to the Operational Resilience Team which ensures operational continuity of ADB IT services.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will be guided and coached by the Information Technology specialist from ADB with regard to the day-to-day operational activities. The Information Technology specialist from ADB will brief the Senior Service Management Coordinator within the OP Division who will take into account his/her comments for performance management purposes.

The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the IT Operational Resilience Team and with ADB teams in Manila, Philippines. The incumbent could be requested to do others tasks of similar level in related fields. S/he will more specifically:

  • Engage in the maintenance lifecycle of applicable equipment/processes in the respective domain/area and more specifically troubleshoot and respond to security incidents
  • Troubleshoot security related problems; engage in incident response and problem management; and in governance processes as needed (e.g. participate in Change Advisory Board)
  • Monitor and escalate as needed any anomalies of the system
  • In coordination with other teams, contribute to develop, update and maintain Disaster Recovery procedures and related technical documentation
  • Provide support to production environment
  • Perform work outside normal working hours as require
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • Knowledge in security information event management, security monitoring and anti-virus
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing Technical documentation
  • Familiar with user support and workstation management
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices and business continuity Framework
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technology

Desirable:

  • Knowledge in security network security, email security and / or end point detection and response
  • Familiarity with the main OS platforms such as: Windows, Linux and network devices, User repository management (Active Directory, GPO, etc)
  • Experience in other information security domains (e.g. vulnerability management, security testing, access control, etc.)

Education:

Essential:

  • Graduation from secondary school supplemented by specialized training in IT

Desirable:

  • IT Security Certification for OS. Platform and Security (ie. Windows Server Certified, Security+, CEH, Linux OS Certified, etc)
  •  ITIL, Prince2, PMP or equivalent certificates

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required

Other Information

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

At the beginning of the appointment, the successful candidate will be requested to undertake a mission in Manila during a 1 to 3 months period.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate): EUR 38,414 .
