Position Description
Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of the post is to provide day-to-day support on a number of HR operational matters, as well as on specific and punctual HR related initiatives such as the transformation exercise.
Objectives of the Programme:
The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Chief, Human Resources Section within the Directorate Division and in close collaboration with the DHR team. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Compile monthly HR statistics and transpose related information into comprehensive HR data dashboards and HR presentations. Provide support in compiling on-demand statistics requested by Audit or external partners
- In close collaboration with the HR Officer and the HR focal points, provide support to Selection and Recruitment activities including publishing vacancies on jobboards, screening applications, representing HR during interviews depending on the level of the positions advertised, preparing selection recommendations
- In close collaboration with the HR Officer and the HR focal points, provide support to Learning and Development activities including liaising with external partners to organize workshops, supporting logistics aspects and administering the LMS
- Provide coordination support throughout the transformation exercise including in collecting and centralizing documentation and in preparing official correspondence
- Take a leading role in a number of welfare or Diversity related initiatives
- Keep up to date with HR updates potentially affecting UNICC, by monitoring related information on WHO and other UN specialized websites. Keep abreast of latest best practices in the HR domain
- Participate in HR related projects including in the area of performance management and provide appropriate HR support to the team
- In collaboration with other HR colleagues, identify and analyse areas for improvement related to procedures and work processes as well as recurrent issues related to the application of HR regulations, and make recommendations for improvement purposes
- Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management
Recruitment Profile
Experience and Skills required:
Essential:
- One year of experience in Human Resources management
- Proven ability to work in autonomy with limited supervision, and to take responsibility for own work area
- Ability to take relevant initiative when/if required
- Ability to work under pressure and to adapt to changing priorities
- Dynamic personality with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
- Disciplined, organized, and meticulous approach to work
- Curiosity, willingness to discover other Human Resources fields and to expand comfort zone
Desirable:
- Experience in leading Competency Based Interviews
- Experience in L&D administration
- System and metrics mindset
- Experience in working with the United Nations, with international organizations, NGOs, and/or IT related company
Education:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent in human resources management, law, public or business administration, social sciences or related field
Desirable:
- Advanced university degree at Master’s level or equivalent in human resources management, law, public or business administration, social sciences or related field
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language, especially French or Spanish is an advantage

Other Information
Compensation:
Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate), including post adjustment (68.7% on October 2019): US$ 62,439.
