Position Description

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Lead Cloud Identity and Governance, within the Cloud Services Section. The incumbent will be involved in the following duties:

  • In close collaboration with the Lead, Cloud Identity and Governance, propose, adapt, implement, deliver, and configure scalable Identity solutions
  • Participate in the Review of technical and business functional requirements to establish new identity solutions
  • Contribute to the management, maintenance and upgrade of Cloud IAM technologies
  • Support the development and implementation of governance plans, security and compliance controls
  • Under guidance of the Lead, Cloud Identity and Governance, maintain close alignment with peers within the organisation, particularly with the Azure & M365 Services Unit, the AWS Services Unit, the Systems Architecture Group and the Cyber Security Section
  • Serves as a team member in the resolution of complex IAM and cross functional technical issues in a timely manner
  • Under appropriate supervision, govern the identity and access lifecycles
  • As a team member, Implement, promote and adhere to relevant identity and governance standards and policies
  • Provides support for the creation and access permissions to Azure Enterprise Enrolments
  • Participate in the development of solutions adapted to the needs of internal and external customers, communicate trends to management and drive product improvements in the field of Cloud Identity
  • Support the evolution of the Cloud Identity services and participate in the design and implementation of new service features
  • Improve internal efficiency and customers happiness by identifying and proposing opportunities to optimize existing processes and tools
  • Prepare technical documentation and related procedures and operations
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

The incumbent may be requested to provide support during weekends, holidays or outside working hours as well as to serve as a “stand-by” officer on a rotation basis.

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential

  • At least six years of relevant IT experience including in the following areas:
    • Proven experience in Microsoft Active Directory, Federation Services, Azure AD, Azure AD Connect and Sync, Multi-Factor Authentication, SSO integration
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure service structure and core features
    • Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) best practices and related security concepts
    • Solid understanding of AWS Account Structure, Core Organization Services, and AWS Single-Sign-On
    • Expert knowledge of multi-factor authentication, PKI, SAML, OAuth, SSO technologies
    • Experience delivering advanced authentication services to Microsoft Azure
    • Expert skills designing, implementing and managing the Microsoft Azure AD environment including claims-based authentication, conditional access, Azure AD Connect, Password management
    • Strong skills writing moderately complex PowerShell Scripts to enable automation in the Microsoft environment
    • At least 2 years of experience in developing solutions on public and/or private cloud platforms with an emphasis towards governance/security tools and solutions
    • Knowledge of general architecture, deployment and administration methodologies and techniques including systems configurations, clustering, networking, OS administration (Windows/Linux), monitoring, security, etc.
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience in migrating from on premise systems to Microsoft Azure
    • Strong troubleshooting skills
    • Effective customer-facing and presentation skills
    • Solid knowledge and experience on Microsoft Technology landscape including various server products
    • At least 2 years of experience working with customers on Cloud specific solutions and deployments
    • Experience analysing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for technical issues
    • Keep abreast of Azure and AWS good practices, new trends and services technologies and evaluate these for possible adoption or incorporation

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform IAM services
  • Understanding of and ability to interact with third party tools
  • Understanding of ICC products and services

Education:

Essential

  • High school diploma supplemented by training in IT

  • AWS certification(s)
  • ITIL certification
  • PRINCE2 certification

Languages:

  • Expert knowledge of English is required

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate): EUR  43,149.
