Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of the position is to provide quality support to the talent management team in UNICC.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Human Resources Officer within the Human Resources Section (CHR) and in close collaboration with the human resources team. The incumbent could be requested to do any others tasks of similar level in related fields.

Under guidance, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Provide support to the drafting of position descriptions, vacancy notices, screening of applications, organization of interview panels, assistance during interviews, finalization of candidate selection, communication of selection results to candidates
  • Provide quality support throughout the entire selection process, including planning of dates for various steps in the process in collaboration with the Team Leader; preparation of selection notes/ reports and dissemination to panel members for review and signature, monitor and follow up as needed
  • Conduct all required reference and background checks for selected candidates
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of candidate rosters and talent pools
  • Coordinate with the required offices and selected candidates on the recruitment process, including but not limited to contract drafting, travel arrangements, visa matters and shipment of personal effects
  • Participate in talent management initiatives including training-related activities
  • Provide general office support services, e.g. drafting and/or processing a variety of correspondence and other communications
  • Provide administrative support to the onboarding process for newly appointed staff members
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • Minimum five years of work experience in human resources or relevant administrative services in an international setting, including at least two years of work experience in the area of selection and recruitment
  • Good knowledge and interpretation of human resources policies, procedures and practices
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Proven ability to perform a variety of standard tasks related HR management, including screening, collecting and preparation of documentation, data input, creation of position, transactions

 Desirable:

  • Work experience in the UN system or similar organizations

Education:

Essential:

  • Completion of secondary school diploma

Desirable:

  • Certification in Human Resources Management

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • French or Spanish: Intermediate knowledge is desirable

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):

  • Valencia, Spain: EUR 39,799
  • Brindisi, Italy: EUR 30,817
  • Rome, Italy: EUR 41,057
