Recruitment Profile

Purpose of the position:

UNICC requires a Communications Aide Intern for support in on-going and new communications projects, with a specific need for French translation skills.

Organizational setting and reporting:

Interns work 5 days per week under the supervision of an experienced member of the MSO unit and will be provided guidance and support to perform the responsibilities mentioned below.

Responsibilities could include:

  • Assist with communications strategy design and implementation
  • Build documents, templates and presentations
  • Collaborate with internal departments to deliver marketing collateral
  • Assist in curating news, sales sheets and information briefs

Education:

To qualify for this internship, applicants must be currently enrolled in a University programme (final year of a Master’s degree or equivalent) specializing in areas that are relevant to UNICC’s line of business such as Communications or other related fields, or must have graduated in the last 6 months.

Work Experience:

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience to participate in the UNICC’s internship program, but applicants should have the following functional and technical skills:

  • Excellent French language skills including translation for web project
  • Demonstrated interest in IT (but techie skills not needed per se)
  • Familiarity, interest, and expertise in digital technologies
  • Professional writing skills and some experience with technical and business writing
  • Well-developed graphic design skills
  • Experience with WordPress, SharePoint and web content management desirable
  • Understanding of communications strategies, preferably in a UN setting
  • Experience of synthesizing, quality assuring, editing and compiling relevant information
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization

Language:

  • Fluency in English and French is required (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus
