Position Description

Purpose of the Position:
This position will support the internal or external activities related to the Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and implementation.
Objectives of the Programme:
The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Business Continuity within the Cybersecurity Division and in close collaboration with the Cyber Security team. The incumbent could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields.
The incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Assist in the development, documentation and review of BC/DR vision, strategy, processes, plans, risk assessments, and recovery solutions for Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) consulting, guidance, and recommendations
- Under close guidance, perform assessments and gap analysis of organizational business continuity management systems and disaster recovery plans
- Under guidance, conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) with business programs to identify critical business functions, processes and the underpinning IT resources and systems. Recommend solutions to manage and mitigate identified risks from the BIA
- Support and coordinate BC/DR projects including information gathering, scoping, planning, implementation, etc.
- Participate in the Development, coordination, and facilitation of the execution of BC/DR awareness training and test/drill exercises. Facilitate knowledge transfer as needed
- Provide support during the audit and help with the implementation and remediation of the audit recommendations
- Provide continuity support in case of major incidents or other significant events affecting the UNICC or Partner Organizations
- Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full-time basis upon request from the senior management
Recruitment Profile
Experience and Skills required:
Essential:
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant IT experience, including in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, project management and/or incident management
- Proven ability to prepare technical documentation and communicate to different target audiences
Desirable:
- Experience in information security or infrastructure management (on premises or cloud-based environments)
- Experience in ISO audits, such as ISO 22301:2019, ISO 27001, ISO 20000, NFPA 1600, or NCEMA standards
- Experience in conducting: Risk assessments, Business impact analysis, Project management, Incident response or management
Education*:
Essential:
- First level University degree in Computer or Information science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
Desirable:
- Training/certifications related to business continuity or disaster recovery (for example: CBCI, CBCP, EDRP, or CBCM)
- Training or certification in ISO audits, such as ISO 22301:2019, ISO 27001, ISO 20000, NFPA 1600, or NCEMA standards
- Certification(s) in Project Management, such as Agile, PMP or Prince2
Languages:
- English, advanced level is required
- Beginner knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage

- Brindisi, (Italy) including post adjustment (17,7% on June 2022): US$ 57,971
- New York, (USA) including post adjustment (73,8% on June 2022): US$ 85,603
- Valencia, (Spain) including post adjustment (24,1% on June 2022): US$ 61,124
