Recruitment Profile
Purpose of the position:
UNICC is offering opportunities for students to acquire practical and direct exposure in different infrastructure communication and technology areas, primarily in operations and support.
Organizational setting and reporting:
Interns work 5 days per week (20 hours) under the supervision of the Head of OPBI and will be provided guidance and support to perform the responsibilities mentioned below.
Responsibilities could include:
- Under the guidance of a network technician, assist and participate in the Operation and Business Infrastructure (OPBI) projects, particularly in the development and configuration of LAN/WAN network equipment
- Assist in the configuration of management tools (capacity management, system alerts and syslog management)
- Assist in the deployment of changes in the network Infrastructure
- Assist in the preparation of network automation scripts
- Assist in the preparation of the necessary project-related technical documentation
- Help and support the team in the daily activities

Education:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be currently enrolled in a University programme (final year of a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree or equivalent) specializing in areas that are relevant to UNICC’s line of business such as Computer or Information Science, or other related fields or must have graduated in the last 6 months.
Work Experience:
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience to participate in the UNICC’s internship program, but applicants should have the following functional and technical skills:
- Basic technical knowledge of TCP/IP networking and protocols.
- Basic technical knowledge of Cisco routers and switches commands.
- Basic knowledge of common network services and protocols ‐ like HTTP, DNS, NTP, SYSLOG, SIP.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to use Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Visio).
- General knowledge of automation principles and techniques.
Language:
- Fluency in English is required (verbal and written)
