Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership for the on-going management and support of unified messaging platforms such as Microsoft Exchange on-premise and Microsoft Exchange Online, as well as archiving and message hygiene solutions used by UNICC and its clients. The incumbent will be responsible for the on-going operations and support of Unified Messaging services for UNICC and its clients.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head Digital Workplace Service Unit (OPDM) within the Operations Division, and in close collaboration with the Unified Messaging team.

The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Under guidance, deliver and maintain successfully various solutions and products related to unified messaging
  • Install, configure and support Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online environments as well as message archiving and hygiene solutions
  • In close collaboration with the Head of the Digital Workplace Service and the team members, provide unified messaging services:
    • Follow up on operations and make sure services are delivered as per customer expectations and SLAs
    • Perform installations and configurations including final testing
    • Draft and share technical documentation as part of the release management process and maintain service guides up to date. When required, participate in technical workshops to customers
    • Ensure compliance with service management standards including incident, problem, change and configuration management
    • Support OPDM Head in coordinating operational aspects for unified messaging services
  • Ensure proper transition from the unified messaging project lead for optimal on-going operations following in-place processes, procedures and metrics
  • Perform messaging systems administration and support tasks such as incident troubleshooting, monitoring, fine-tuning, patching, upgrades, scripting
  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping activities on the Exchange/Exchange Online and related infrastructures
  • Contribute to the continuing service and process improvement and design and implementation of new service features and infrastructures, as and when requested
  • Contribute to technical assessments, perform requirements gathering, solution design, and coordinate the delivery and operations of solutions with clients and internal stakeholders
  • When required, assist the Head of OPDM in the preparation of messaging agreements for clients
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least two years of IT work experience, including one year experience in system administration of Microsoft Exchange Servers, Exchange Online, message hygiene and archiving systems
  • Experience in installation, configuration and support of multi-site Microsoft Exchange environments offering high availability and disaster recovery
  • Experience of scripting Windows and Exchange system administration tasks
  • Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection, O365 Advanced Threat Protection, Proofpoint and Veritas Enterprise Vault
  • Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Enterprise Messaging solutions covering email, calendaring, remote access solutions, directory integration, single sign-on solutions, virus and spam control, email relay and ActiveSync
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture and networking (TCP/IP, etc.)
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems
  • Ability to provide technical expertise during service management review meetings with clients
  • Good knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and ISO 20000 Service Management

Desirable:

  • Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Azure Active Directory, SSO integration
  • Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Windows Server administration
  • Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of scripting in C# and PowerShellExperience in design, implementation and support of Microsoft 365 services
  • Experience in using and configuring enterprise monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure messaging service availability
  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 concepts and methodology

Education:

Essential:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

 Desirable:

  • Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange certifications
  • ITIL certification
  • PRINCE2 certification

Languages:

  • Expert knowledge of English is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Spanish is desirable

Other Information

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate), including post adjustment (27,5% on December 2021): US$ 62,226.
