Recruitment Profile

Purpose of the position:

UNICC is offering a great opportunity to acquire practical experience and direct exposure in different areas of IT Infrastructure support like Backup, Storage and/or Virtualization environments, Platform Support like Operating System and Active Directory

Organizational setting and reporting:

Interns work five days per week (37.5 hours) under the supervision of the team leader of the OPBO Infrastructure/Platform Operations team and will be provided guidance and support to perform the responsibilities mentioned below.

Responsibilities could include:

  • Assist in the resolution of request and/or incidents related to systems in area specified on the purpose of the position.
  • Review and make proposal on how to streamline the process of performing periodic maintenance for infrastructure components such as: Operating System, backup and storage, security.
  • Review and make proposal on how to improve the monitoring and reporting of the abovementioned environments.
  • Review reports generated by the monitoring systems, to propose follow-up actions and/or recommendations.
  • Monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of requests and incidents assigned to the team and follow-up with tickets’ assignees to avoid any breach.
  • Assist in collecting data from managed environments.

Education:

To qualify for this internship, applicants must be currently enrolled in a University programme (eg. final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent) with one of the following specializations: Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer engineering or similar fields or must have graduated in the last 6 months.

Work Experience:

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience to participate in ICC’s internships programme, but applicants should have the following functional and technical skills:

  • Knowledge of block, file and object storage types
  • Understanding of data backup and computer virtualization technologies
  • Reporting and monitoring tools
  • Scripting and automation tools (preferably in PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible,…)
  • Networking communication and TCP/IP or related
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required (verbal and written)
