Position Description

Purpose of the Position:
Lead the E-business team to deliver high-quality, innovative and customer focused system support to multiple clients. The team lead will be a person that can support the team in technical design, major problem resolution and implementing complex integrations. The team lead will have a role in working with the other ERP team leads and Heads of Unit to transform the current ERP services to new services that will meet the long-term goals of the ERP customers of UNICC.
Objectives of the Programme:
The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of Oracle Unit (OPOU) and will be responsible for the following duties:
Supervisory
- Lead, guide and coach the relevant team members. Nurture a culture of continuous improvement, information sharing and team building within the unit. Ensure that all staff management processes are adhered to, and regular communication and performance feedback and coaching is given to all staff for improvement purposes
- Manage efficiently the human resources including recruitment, performance and talent management aspects in line with the applicable HR and/or Procurement policies
Project management and Planning
- In collaboration and guidance from the Head of Unit, establish and maintain an ongoing plan for human resources, based on capacity requirements, and service maintenance, including hardware and software upgrades, and general service improvement projects
- Ensure effective implementation and management of projects through timely provision of inputs, timely and efficient delivery of outputs, and planning, control, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities and time recording, in conformity with the applicable SDA
Technical leadership and advice:
- Provide technical advice to the Head of Unit and technical guidance and support to the team and, under guidance from the Head of Unit, develop new strategies and identify courses of action to accelerate/improve delivery of services in accordance with direction received from senior management
Customers and partnerships
- Under guidance from the Head of Unit, manage actively customer satisfaction to understand their technical concerns and report against project and SDA targets (cost, time, scope and quality)
- Coordinate both across UNICC (including Business Relationship Managers, Project Managers and other Service Owners) and with the customers to facilitate execution of projects and services within budget and timelines
Innovation and Knowledge management
- Keep abreast and promote the sharing and understanding of industry good practices, new trends and technologies and evaluate these for possible adoption or incorporation. Using this knowledge, and in close collaboration with the Head of Unit, contribute to the transformation of the ERP services to support cloud-based services and/or other ERP related opportunities
Processes
- Strictly adhere to UNICC’s Change, Incident and Problem Management processes. Establish processes for Capacity, Availability and Service Level Management, ensuring that all required processes are in line with agreed standards and that agreed metrics are in place and reported regularly and accurately
- Standardise and document operating procedures and automate them whenever it is feasible
Other
- Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management
Recruitment Profile
Experience and Skills required:
Essential:
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in providing Oracle products, including Oracle E-Business Suite Applications, following best practices and well-defined processes
- Good planning and listening skills and experience related to delivering different types of activities based on client requirements and to ensure that they meet the agreed quality and timelines
- Proven experience in delivering complex client request and/or projects using project management skills
- Proven experience in analysing and identifying root causes for complex problems
Desirable:
- Experience in cloud related technology and services
- Good understanding of the different IT Service Management processes
- Experience in engaging with clients, to gather requirements and providing status updates related to different activities
- Experience in managing a team

Essential:
- First university degree in Computer Science or related field
Desirable:
- Relevant Oracle related certification and/or training
Languages:
- English: Expert knowledge is required
- Knowledge of another UN official language would be an advantage

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):
- Rome, (Italy) including post adjustment (18,5% on February 2025): US$ 83,201
