Position Description

Purpose of the Position:

The Cybersecurity Solutions Officer will work with various UNICC teams to build secure digital solutions and services. The incumbent will work closely with the Business Relationship Managers as the 1) Subject Matter Expert on cybersecurity 2) Focal point from the cybersecurity team with expertise on all cybersecurity capabilities of UNICC 3) Subject matter expert to provide guidance on fundamental cybersecurity elements that need to be included in all digital solutions that UNICC is building. The incumbent will also be keep oversight on cybersecurity services that need to be delivered by UNICC and ensure work with UNICC’s Partner Organizations to get feedback.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.

Main duties and responsibilities

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Chief, Cybersecurity Division (CS) and in close collaboration with all cybersecurity units and sections within UNICC’s cybersecurity team. The incumbent could be requested to do any others tasks of similar level in related fields.

  • Support Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) by providing subject matter expertise on cybersecurity concepts and leveraging support from other members within UNICC’s cybersecurity team
  • Participate in BRM activities including, but not be limited to, conducting Proof of Concepts (PoC), supporting in security designs, writing proposals, delivering product specific presentations and training etc.
  • Provide cybersecurity engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of cybersecurity solutions
  • Support Business Relationship Managers to include cybersecurity fundamental controls in all UNICC delivered digital solutions as deemed necessary. This includes coordinating the implementation of controls within UNICC’s cybersecurity team
  • Standardise, update and build documentation, roadmaps and presentations related to UNICC’s cybersecurity capabilities
  • Support UNICC’s BRMs in raising awareness within UNICC’s partner ecosystem of the common cybersecurity capabilities available to them
  • Under guidance, coordinate cybersecurity working groups with UNICC’s partner agencies with the aim to collect feedback on 1) how to enhance UNICC’s cybersecurity services and 2) identify opportunities to develop common cybersecurity solutions within the UN system
  • Maintain effective relationship and communication with UNICC partners to understand their challenges and requirements – both technical and business, and clearly articulate, document and communicate them to the BRMs and various cybersecurity teams
  • Monitor relevant UNICC’s cybersecurity services delivered to  partner agencies to ensure that these services are delivered as per the requirements and agreed deliverables
  • Work closely with UNICC’s communications team as a focal point from the cybersecurity team to share accomplishments and updates with UNICC partners
  • Other: Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least five (5) years of strong hands-on experience in cybersecurity including experience in technical solutioning and presales
  • Deep knowledge security architecture and design principles
  • Knowledge of the security solutions landscape and industry trend
  • Very Good technical knowledge of security technologies (across multiple domains such as Firewall, Network IPS, SIEM, DLP, Cloud Security etc.), information security concepts and familiar with security products (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Terranova, KnowBe4, Qualys, Crowdstrike, Veracode, open source security products etc) and the security market place

Desirable:

  • Experience in a MSS or familiar with the operation of a Security Operation Center (SOC), OT/IOT security or business continuity  or in identity and access security solutioning, cybersecurity consulting security risk assessments, helping organizations achieve ISO 27001 certifications etc.
  • Experience in preparing technical architecture blueprint and responding to large scale complex RFP is highly desirable
  • Professional security related qualification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, GIAC or equivalent
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with Virtualization and Cloud technology

Education:

Essential:

  • First university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IS or related

Desirable:

  • Advanced university degree with focus in information (technology) or cybersecurity

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Other language: Knowledge of Spanish or French is an advantage

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate): 

  • Brindisi (Italy), including post adjustment (20,9% on January 2023): US$ 75,794.
  • Rome (Italy), including post adjustment (26,6% on January 2023): US$ 79,368.
  • New York (USA), including post adjustment (69,9% on January 2023): US$ 106,513.
  • Valencia (Spain), including post adjustment (30,6% on January 2023): US$ 81,875.
