Purpose of the Position:

UNICC Communications Office programme support. Objectives include strengthening strategic, business and corporate communications, while driving a variety of initiatives such as staff and Client news, brand identity, advocacy/marketing strategies, strategic partnerships, and raising the visibility of UNICC within the UN family.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide digital business services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Communications Officer within the Director Division and in collaboration with the DCO team. The successful candidate:

  • Builds and delivers video and animation products to strengthen UNICC visibility
  • Creates high-quality images, pitch decks and presentations to strengthen UNICC brand identity
  • Manages UNICC’s visual library to support marketing, outreach and advocacy efforts
  • Assists the Communications Officer with other communications from programme management, analytics and reporting, campaigns, news-gathering and publication at UNICC websites as well as for UNICC’s Communications as a Service
  • Assists the Associate Communications Officer with UNICC’s social media programme
  • Assists with UNICC’s brand creation and management to strengthen UNICC’s mission

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

At least one year experience including in the following areas:

  • Animation and video expertise at an advanced professional level (with Final Cut pro and Adobe Premiere experience
  • Advanced graphic design expertise (with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
  • Creative mind-set and dynamic personality
  • Demonstrated experience in producing communications materials, preferably in international development sector or for IT-related products/services
  • Experience in creating content for digital platforms (websites), social media (Twitter, LinkedIn) and email marketing (Mailchimp)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS 365 tools, SharePoint and WordPress website tools
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with stakeholders across the organisation, including a demonstrated ability to work with technology teams

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the UN system, NGOs or in IT-related organizations
  • Experience managing communications projects in a multi-cultural environment

Education:

Essential:

  • Master’s Degree in animation, visual design, video production, or graphic design areas only

 Desirable:

  • Public policy or international relations educational experience

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Other language: French or Spanish is desirable

Other Information

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate), including post adjustment (69.3% on July 2021): US$ 62,661.

UNICC also offers generous leave and absence allowances, flexible working hours, overtime compensation, teleworking, access to training, and depending on eligibility other benefits such as relocation grant, dependency allowance, language allowance, or education grant.
