Position Description

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communications technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

The Communications team focuses on internal communications that support our business operations and our staff, communications with ICC Clients, as well as communications with the public. Objectives include strengthening strategic, business and corporate communications, while driving a variety of initiatives such as staff and Client news, brand identity, advocacy/marketing strategies, strategic partnerships, and raising the visibility of ICC within the UN family.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Communications Officer within the Clients and Projects Division.

In order to maximize the impact of internal and external communications, the post holder will be utilising a variety of tools and techniques. Duties include more specifically:

Internal communications

  • Participating in designing, drafting and sharing internal corporate documents, presentations and news
  • Assisting with managing corporate Intranet and other ICC news channels (newsletters, team networks digital signage, etc.)
  • Editing images, videos, and infographics

Client communications

  • Participating with designing, drafting and sharing news stories, brochures, success stories, marketing collateral images, posters, videos, etc
  • Assisting with managing the ICC service catalogue
  • Assisting with providing communications consultancy services to external clients in the following area: intranet site design, communications campaigns, and others

Public communications

  • Participating with designing, drafting and sharing public communications material such as public reports, blog posts, and corporate news
  • Managing ICC social media accounts

General

  • Assisting with organizing and facilitating webinars, administrating online communications tools, surveys and other events updating websites,
  • Performing other related duties as required.

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential

  • Experience in producing internal and external communications material
  • Experience in Marketing communications, preferably in international development sector or on IT related products/services 
  • Experience in creating content for digital platforms (websites) and social media (Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Excellent communications skills: writing, editing, and proof-reading
  • Creative mind-set and dynamic personality
  • Ability to compile and synthesize a large amount of diverse information 
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with a variety of teams and stakeholders across the organisation
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office 365 tools 
  • Intermediate knowledge with graphic design software such as Photoshop

Desirable

  • Graphic and infographic design
  • Experience in using photography and videography for marketing purposes
  • Project management experience 
  • Image, infographics and video editing
  • Microsoft SharePoint and WordPress fundamentals
  • Experience working in the UN system, or in NGO, or in an IT related organization is strongly desirable

Education:

Essential

  • Advanced university degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Sales, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

Desirable

  • Technical certification in any relevant area

Languages:

  • Expert knowledge of English (speaking and writing)
  • Knowledge of another language is desired

Other Information

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate), including post adjustment (67.5% on March 2019): US$ 50,890
