Position Description

Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of the position is to provide M365 technical support within the Unite Digital Workplace Services Unit (DSDW), including supporting the team on the implementation and ongoing support of M365 services for UNICC and its clients.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Unite Digital Workplace Services Unit (DSDW) within the Digital Solutions Centre Division (DS). The incumbent could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields.

Under guidance, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Support in the implementation, configuration and delivery of optimized, scalable Microsoft 365 email solutions and related systems for UNICC partners organizations
  • Provide M365 tenant administration and management; administrate the general tenant policies according to the governance and best practices; administrate and configure different M365 products
  • Be responsible for implementing, managing and maintaining standard configurations, monitoring and analysis tools
  • Identify technical problems, propose and implement solutions
  • Participate in the development of solutions adapted to the needs of internal and external customers, end-users and all stakeholders, communicate trends to management and drive M365 product improvements
  • Support the evolution of the M365 services by contributing to the design and implementation of new service features
  • Work in close collaboration with other technical teams including Information Security, Architecture, Service Management, etc.
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal efficiency and customers satisfaction by finding opportunities to optimize existing processes and tools
  • Draft technical documentation on the M365 services and related procedures and operations
  • Keep abreast of Microsoft 365 good practices, new trends and services and evaluate these for possible adoption within UNICC
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full-time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least eight (8) years of relevant IT experience, including at least one year of experience working with customers on Cloud and M365 specific solutions and deployments
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience as global administrator for Microsoft 365 tenant
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019/ Exchange Online; MS Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Power Platform, MS Defender, Yammer and others
  • Proven hands-on experience in migrating projects from on-premises systems to Microsoft 365 and/or tenant to tenant migration and related integration features
  • Experience in scripting, in particular PowerShell scripting and MS Graph, to automate processes in MS Exchange, SharePoint Online, Teams and other M365 components
  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for technical issues
  • Good knowledge of MS Active Directory / Azure Identity

 Desirable:

  • Exposure in Information Security Management System (ISMS: ISO 27001), ITIL framework and other industry standards
  • Good knowledge of SMTP Relay, Mail Gateway, Spam and Virus filtering systems
  • Good knowledge of general architecture, deployment and administration methodologies and techniques including systems configurations, clustering, networking, OS administration (Windows/Linux), visualization (VMware), monitoring (SCOM), security, etc.

Education*:

Essential:

  • Secondary school diploma

Desirable:

  • Microsoft M365 Certification
  • Other related Microsoft Certification
  • ITIL certification

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):

  • Brindisi: EUR 34,160
  • Valencia: EUR 44,839
