Addressing Pandemic Scenarios
ICC’s new Enterprise Notification Service allows clients to broadcast messages simultaneously to tens, hundreds, or thousands of contacts (staff, constituents, suppliers, etc.) in any situation that requires mass notification.
Not only limited to emergency or disaster scenarios, the service can be used to quickly and effectively disseminate information to contacts.
The service ensures that the same message is delivered quickly and reliably to all intended recipients, anytime, anywhere, by a wide variety of communication channels, including:
- Fixed phones, mobile phones, and satellite phones
- Email
- SMS
- PDA/wireless devices (e.g. BlackBerry)
- Fax
- Pagers
The broadcast can be initiated anywhere from any telephone or web browser through a secured Internet website on a 7/24 basis.
Rules can be defined to automatically escalate messages from device to device, or contact to contact, until its receipt is confirmed.
The service provides real-time two-way communication, keeping track of who has confirmed receipt of the message, and can poll recipients to gather information on their safety, location or availability. Recipients can respond either by a simple confirmation (e.g. selecting a numbered option from a telephone keypad), clicking on a supplied web link, replying to an email or being automatically bridged to a conference call.
A secure, self-service, web-based interface provides ICC clients complete control over the import and management of their contact information. Individuals can be granted different levels of access and authority, using a team-based security model, to control who can initiate a broadcast, whom they can contact and what data and functionality they can access. The service is fully-hosted, so there is no infrastructure footprint required on client premises.
Contact data can be imported from, and synchronized with, existing systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes email systems, Microsoft Active Directory, ODBC data sources, SAP and PeopleSoft ERP systems, spreadsheets and comma-separated value (CSV) files.
ICC has partnered with a leading service provider in order to ensure the highest level of features, capacity and availability for the Enterprise Notification Service. The service is capable of making over 1,300 one-minute voice calls per minute. Stringent data privacy and security requirements are enforced by strict access controls combined with adaptable delegated permissions.
