WFP SAP Hosting
In late 2002, ICC established an on-site team at the World Food Programme’s Headquarters in Rome to manage the organization’s SAP systems. In December 2004, WFP requested the move of the SAP systems to ICC’s Data Centre in Geneva.
The project to move the SAP systems to Geneva included a full hardware refresh, upgrades of certain components and the reassignment of some ICC staff from Rome to Geneva. The project completed successfully and on schedule.
The SAP implementation includes approximately 40 servers running SAP R/3, SAP Business Warehouse and CITRIX servers to provide connectivity to WFP’s field offices.
All SAP environments have been running at ICC’s Geneva Data Centre since June 2005 to the full satisfaction of the customer.
The ERP Hosting Service delivers significant benefits to Partner Organizations and is comprised of these elements:
- Hosting in a state of the art Data Centre
- Network Infrastructure and management (Routers, firewalls, internet connectivity, network administration, etc.)
- Hardware Provision - eliminating the need to budget for hardware replacement approximately every 4 years
- Operating System Administration (Linux, Solaris, Windows, etc.)
- Database Administration (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
- ERP instance management (code migrations, problem management, performance tuning, capacity management, application patching, etc.)
- 7/24 monitoring and operational support
- Access to on-call technical and managerial staff outside of normal working hours, weekends and holidays
- Disaster Recovery - hosted at a separate site with defined RTO and RPO
Additional projects such as major upgrades to one or more of the ERP components can be handled at the request of th ecustomer. The ICC ERP service management team works in close coordination with the client to ensure quality results while minimizing risk.
