UNHCR PeopleSoft Hosting
In November 2004, UNHCR requested a proposal from ICC for the black-box hosting of a small number of PeopleSoft development environments. The project included enhancements to the network infrastructure between UNHCR and ICC to allow for high-speed communications and possible future expansion.
In April 2005, following the successful implementation of the abovementioned hosting agreement, UNHCR requested another proposal for the managed hosting of the full PeopleSoft landscape at ICC. ICC and UNHCR worked together to create a hosting service that met UNHCR’s requirements, addressed some issues with their previous hosting partner and resulted in a significant overall cost savings.
The hosted PeopleSoft systems include production, development, testing and training environments spread across more than 20 high performance SUN and Dell servers. The service includes Disaster Recovery for the production environments and is monitored and supported by ICC staff on a 24/7 basis.
All PeopleSoft environments have been running at ICC since October 2005 to the full satisfaction of the customer.
The ERP Hosting Service delivers significant benefits to Partner Organizations and is comprised of these elements:
- Hosting in a state of the art Data Centre
- Network Infrastructure and management (Routers, firewalls, internet connectivity, network administration, etc.)
- Hardware Provision - eliminating the need to budget for hardware replacement approximately every 4 years
- Operating System Administration (Linux, Solaris, Windows, etc.)
- Database Administration (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
- ERP instance management (code migrations, problem management, performance tuning, capacity management, application patching, etc.)
- 7/24 monitoring and operational support
- Access to on-call technical and managerial staff outside of normal working hours, weekends and holidays
- Disaster Recovery - hosted at a separate site with defined RTO and RPO
Additional projects such as major upgrades to one or more of the ERP components can be handled at the request of the customer. The ICC ERP service management team works in close coordination with the client to ensure quality results while minimizing risk.
