Upgrade of Internet Links

ICC continuously applies capacity management processes to its services in order to identify usage trends, predict maximum average usage as well as peak usage, and pro-actively increase/decrease resources to ensure the right capacity is available at the lowest possible cost to clients.

In December 2004, the need to upgrade ICC’s internet bandwidth was identified and a number of providers were contacted to supply quotes. This exercise resulted in ICC increasing internet bandwidth by over 25% without any impact on the cost to customers.

Currently, ICC maintains two physically separate, redundant, load-balanced, 22-Mbps internet links provided by two independent suppliers. One of the Internet links is located in the ICC Service Continuity Centre (SCC) to enhance resiliency.
