The United Nations International Computing Centre (ICC) was
established in Geneva in 1971 as a common service, providing
a wide range of Information and Communication Technology Services,
on a cost recovery basis, to its users worldwide.
It was originally set up to meet the needs of three organizations;
the United Nations (UN), the United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP) and the World Health Organization (WHO)
were the founding organizations of the ICC.
The Centre has grown over the years to count now more than
25 Partner Organizations and a large number of other Users.
Purpose of the ICC
The ICC delivers:
- A broad range of IT Services
- State of the art and secure environment
- 7 days / 24 hours technical support
ICC also offers:
- Assistance in exploiting networking and computing technologies
- Information Management Services
- Expert advice on information technology and management
Governing Body
ICC is governed by a Management Committee, comprising of one representative from each Partner Organization. This committee provides broad policy guidelines and reviews ICC's work programme and associated budgets.
